The idea for this meet was from Gavin Blench who was eager to do some recording
in the Toot House at Tapeley Park.
Luckily enough we managed to pick what was the nicest day of the year so
far, the sun was shining, the woodpeckers were pecking, bees were flying and bugs
were biting - Spring had begun!
The Toot House is pretty much a fancy stone, open fronted, bus stop kind
of building with stone walls and floor and only a wooden bench at the back as
funiture.
This kind of space has the most incredible harmonics for all kinds of musical
instruments, especially didjes, and the hope with the audio recordings below is
that we managed to capture those harmonics within Gavin's playing. At no point
in the recordings has any synthetic reverb or any other plastic effect been used,
just two microphones and a Zoom H4 used for recording in 320kbs MP3 and Audacity
used to edit and mix down into 160kbs MP3.
